BBS-56 Book Block Solution

Unwinding and plowfolding:

Once the production speed is set via the control panel, the BBS-56 will automatically adjust the unwinding speed using sheet-level barcode scanning to meet the optimal production speed, even with variable page count book blocks. After unwinding and decurling, the web is perforated to ensure high-quality folds downstream. The web is transported into the double plowfold section to be folded along perforated lines as 4-page, 6-page, or 8-page signatures.

Cutting and gluing:

The folded web is cut based on application input size and top of form marks. Glue is then applied to each signature of the book block, optimized based on paper type.

Stacking and delivery:

Glued signatures are accumulated into book blocks using two separate star-wheel stackers which continuously deliver the blocks to the delivery section for continuous production at constant speed.

Roll-to-book production:

The BBS-56 can be integrated into a comprehensive Smart Binding System with the BQ-500 Perfect Binder and HT-1000V or HT-300 Trimmer for a roll-to-book production line that excels at short- and medium-run jobs. The configuration can reach production speeds of up to 800 books per hour.
