Standard and Hunkeler will maintain their factory-direct relationship to deliver finishing solutions for roll-fed inkjet presses in 2026 and beyond. Together, we will continue to work with our partners and mutual customers to deliver Hunkeler solutions paired with Horizon equipment. Standard will also collaborate with other leading pre- and post-vendors to offer integrated Horizon solutions. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.
In October, Standard represented Horizon and Hunkeler equipment at PRINTING United 2025 in Orlando, FL. We showcased and demonstrated over 20 individual post-press finishing solutions in our 5,000 square feet of exhibit space, the largest display of finishing at the show. Additionally, Standard worked with our printer vendor and pre-post partners on pre-printed applications that ran live in our booth and partner booths during the event.
In October, Standard welcomed a focused group of book manufacturers to our National Demonstration Center in Andover for a two-day event during which the group participated in hands-on demonstrations of the latest book-finishing equipment. At the event, pre-printed rolls from the RICOH Pro VC40000 were used to create glued book blocks on the Horizon BBS-56 Book Block solution. The book blocks were then finished in-line with a BQ-500 Perfect Binder and HT-1000V Trimmer.
Standard is hosting a series of Horizon-focused webinars for the Ricoh sales and professional services teams. The first session focused on roll-to-fold applications featuring a Horizon AFV-56 Series folder, and the second session highlighted the Horizon StitchLiner Mark V Saddlestitcher for booklet production. Both sessions are available on demand. In January, we will host the final webinar in the series, which will walk through case binding preparation on the BQ-500 Perfect Binder and HT-300 Trimmer. Please contact us if you would like access to the recordings or if you would like to attend the next session.
In this edition, Standard highlights two customer success stories and provides a look at what’s ahead for Standard in 2026.

Standard’s Johan Laurent and Katelyn Pinch joined the BMI community for the recent Book Manufacturing Mastered in NYC, and Virginia DaCosta caught up with our colleagues north of the border at the BMI Canadian Roundtable in August. We enjoyed the opportunities to connect with partners and customers on the state of the industry and explore its future direction.

The Standard Horizon BBS-56 Roll-fed Book Block Solution made its North American debut earlier this year at our Finishing 360 open house. This plowfold book block-making system is designed for short- to medium-run production and can be configured with a Horizon perfect binder and trimmer for a complete roll-to-perfect bound book solution operating at speeds of up to 800 books per hour. We are welcoming partners and our mutual customers to visit Standard’s Andover, MA, demonstration center for in-person, hands-on demonstrations. To schedule a visit, contact your Standard sales representative.
The event brought together customers, partners, and industry professionals from across the US and Canada to Standard’s state-of-the-art demonstration center. During the two-day event, Standard offered hands-on, personalized equipment demonstrations and high-level tours of Hunkeler and Horizon finishing lines.
