Standard was proud to once again be a platinum sponsor at thINK Ahead 2026, held this past July in Boca Raton, FL. We joined Canon, customers, partners, and industry colleagues for two days of insightful discussions and educational sessions focused on the trends, technologies, and opportunities shaping the future of print. Customers also saw firsthand the power of automated print finishing with the Horizon AFV-566FKT folder showcased during customer demonstrations at the Canon Customer Innovation Center.
We are excited to share that the Canon varioPRINT iX3200 Sheetfed Inkjet Press can now be integrated inline with the Horizon iCE StitchLiner Mark V Saddlestitcher. This solution allows our mutual customers to go from blank sheets to finished booklets in a single pass, without slowing down the press. Together, they deliver reliable, high-quality, on-demand production while reducing the labor required to run two independent systems. This solution will be showcased at Horizon Smart Factory in November and will be available in the US and Canada during the first quarter of 2027.
Standard will return to PRINTING United 2026 with the largest display of finishing equipment at the show, featuring more than 20 production-ready Horizon post-press solutions for live, on-demand demonstrations. Highlights will include perfect binding, saddlestitching, folding, roll-fed finishing, iCE LiNK workflow connectivity, and the newly available Palamides Gamma 502 HO Automatic Stacker/Bander. Standard has partnered with Canon to show a roll-fed variable booklet application preprinted on the Canon ColorStream 8000 and finished live during the event on the Horizon StitchLiner Mark V Saddlestitcher.
Horizon Smart Factory (HSF) 2026 is less than two months away! HSF will take place November 4-6, 2026, at Horizon’s headquarters in Japan, and offers a unique opportunity for partners and our mutual customers to immerse themselves in the factory of the future. Horizon will demonstrate solutions that minimize human intervention through AMRs and robotics, and create workflows designed for real-world operation in printing and bookbinding environments.
We are excited to share that Steve Martinez has been promoted to Director of Sales for Standard. Steve brings more than 40 years of print industry experience to his new role, which will focus on leading Standard’s sales strategy, managing the national sales team, and continuing to strengthen Standard’s position in the print finishing market.

In May, Standard hosted its annual Finishing 360 open house, bringing together industry professionals for hands-on discussions around finishing, automation, and workflow innovation. For the first time ever, we welcomed new pre- and post-partners, EMT and Tecnau, and showcased integrated solutions with unwinders and cutters from both companies. We also demonstrated the new, fully automated Palamides Gamma stacker and bander, which Standard is reselling.
Canon and Standard partnered to pre-print an application for Standard’s Finishing 360 open house. The application showcased booklets of variable sizes and page counts run on the Horizon StitchLiner Mark V Saddlestitcher in-line with a Tecnau Unwinder u50i and Cutter c7 and a Palamides Gamma 502 HO Automatic. Completed booklets were batched, banded, and ready for easy packaging.

After adding both roll-fed and sheet-fed inkjet presses, Canon-Standard customer McClung Companies needed digital finishing to support the output.
