Service Engineer

Standard Finishing Systems is currently looking for a Field Service Engineer to aid in servicing and supporting a wide variety of print finishing products for our customers and partners.

Job Description

Standard’s Field Service Engineer is a highly energetic, experienced, and motivated individual who assists our organization in servicing and supporting a wide variety of print finishing products such as folders, cutters, binders, collators, stitchers, and various other digital modules.

Reporting To:

Applicable/Assigned Technical Manager

Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform field installation, equipment and application testing, and operator training.
  • Respond to on-site service calls, perform equipment repairs, application testing, and training.
  • Provide technical phone support to our customers through call tracking database.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems, collect service data, and support projects as assigned.
  • Assist with equipment demonstrations and application testing.
  • Support national and regional equipment shows.
  • Manage technical details associated with each assignment.
  • Follow-up and work to resolve installation and manufacturing issues.
  • All other duties, as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient experience in Microsoft Office suite, Salesforce.
  • Electrical/Mechanical skill sets: Multi-meter usage and reading electrical schematics.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Resourceful, good attitude, high energy and self-motivated.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of field service equipment repair.
  • Two-year technical degree or previous technical equivalent experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capable of lifting moderate weight (up to ~35lbs) unassisted.
  • Lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, reaching into tight spaces, and sometimes working in confined areas.
  • Good hand/eye coordination and dexterity.
  • Willingness and ability to travel primarily to national and, occasionally, international locations; Position can require up to ~80% travel.

Compensation Range:

$60,000-$80,000/annual base salary; Non-exempt position.
